Reviews: Voglio la testa in Italia & Easyjet in the US of A

Posted: May 2, 2014 in Uncategorized

My novel Bring Me the Head of Ryan Giggs was recently published in Italian as VOGLIO LA TESTA DI RYAN GIGGS by the good people at 66thand2nd of Roma. My thanks to Isabella, Tomaso, Marco and the team for all their hard work promoting the book at Rome Book Festival and beyond, we were there last month and had a fantastic time. Please find below a selection from the Italian press reviews:

‘Exhilirating’ 4.5/5 stars, Rolling Stone magazine

‘An extraordinarily written book, with a light and poetic prose’ Pagina 99

‘Unpredictable situations and plausible characters, written in a never boring prose’ SportWeek

‘An acid, sweet, sketchy book, a painful and syncopated collection of invented sport memories’ Enrico Sisti, La Repubblica

It’s great to be published in another language for the first time, I’m delighted to have Voglio la Testa di Ryan Giggs on my shelf along with my other books.

Meanwhile, back in boring old English, my collection LoveSexTravelMusik: Tales for the Easyjet Generation has just been published in the United States, my first book available there. The first review is from Booklist:

‘Brilliant writing, the variety of locales, and the bold portrayal of character will delight short story and literary fiction readers and may create demand for Glass’s previous novels.’

Hello, please pass on my best wishes to Alastair Gray. I learned today about his accident. I hope he recovers quickly! I am an English teacher in Hertfordshire and every year I teach The Star as the model of great short story writing. I didn’t know how to get my message to Mr Gray, so I hope this is not an onerous task for you!
    Thank you!

      Dear Steve Pinhorn,
Thanks for your message, I will pass it on. I’m glad to hear you teach The Star – it’s one of my favourites. And we hope, of course, that AG recovers ASAP.
